About Haiven Sellers

Haiven Sellers, also known professionally as HAIVEN, is a 22-year-old singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Traverse City, Michigan, now based in Liverpool, England. Inspired by the likes of Kacey Musgraves and Lord Huron, her acoustic, bright sound accompanies relatable and vulnerable lyricism, often embellished with her own lush string arrangements.
In the beginning of her career, Haiven had a classical upbringing and transitioned into contemporary music during her studies at Interlochen Arts Academy, where she honed her craft as an artist and session musician in their Singer/Songwriter program. Upon her graduation at 17-years-old, Haiven released her debut album, Vivid, establishing her as an eager new voice in the folk scene.
In 2021, Haiven relocated to the United Kingdom to attend the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts and continue expanding her career. During her studies, Haiven independently booked and managed the All Over Michigan and Just for July tours across the American Midwest alongside Interlochen alumni Bella Wright, Lorrynne, and Breezy Love. She also began developing her sound and collaborating with songwriter and producer, Harry Paynter. Haiven’s first three UK-released singles were featured on BBC Introducing and her debut single, Everything Sucks, went on to win 2023 Song of the Year in the United Kingdom Songwriting Contest. Haiven graduated from LIPA in 2024 with a Bachelor’s of Music with First Class Honours.
In addition to being a singer/songwriter, Haiven is also a classically trained violinist, violist and string arranger with over a decade of international recording and performance experience. She was a member of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York for five years and has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. As an arranger, Haiven has collaborated with artists such as Tere! and DeTeresa, and her arrangements have amassed over 700,000 streams globally.
Haiven is currently in the process of recording her sophomore album alongside long-time collaborator and producer, Ethan Calouro. She performs often across the UK Northwest with her live band and folk duo, Rhys and Haiven, and holds several residencies including JSM Bars, The Botanist, and Lounge Cafes.
